We invite you to visit the Merelani and Lemshuku hills where Tanzanite and Tsavorite are found respectively. expiriencing this germstone tour will be an expirience of a lifetime. The main gemstone that we focus on this tour are the Tanzanite, Tsavorite, Spinel and Tourmaline, which are all mined in an area called Merelani hills that is just adjacent to Moshi.

Why is this tour special? because it allows you to see and understand the whole mining process of some of the most precious Tanzania gemstones. Did you know Tanzanite's only known source in the world is a 4km strip of land near Mount Kilimanjaro, northern Tanzania. This single, limited source renders tanzanite at least a thousand times rarer than diamonds. Understanding the mining process can be very interesting as it allows you to experience how local miners and big scale miners do their work and how they interact and operate in the same environment.

You will get to meet up with the miners personally and exchange ideas and hear their stories, on how they ended up in the mining industry and how they feel about there job and much more. You will also get a chance to camp and visit the mining shafts so you can see where all this gemstones and jewellery are from to end up in people, wrist, ears or necks.
